Don't let the french fool you!

If you are in France These are some of the festivals you can attend. France has over 200 festivals in the Summer I don't know all of them but there are many to choose from. Here are just a few festivals in different regions of France you can visit.

The Vienne Festival is set in an Amphitheater that is over 1000 years old. So you could imagine how that sounds. Perfect acoustics you won't find a better amphitheater than this in France. I have attended this Festival 5 times in my life and have enjoyed every moment of it.

Here is the link:http://www.jazzavienne.com The Festival starts around the end of June till the middle of July.

If you are ever in the Midi-Pyrenees Region, there is a City called Souillac and in July they have a beautiful Jazz festival there. It's the Souillac Jazz festival. Here is the link http://www.souillacenjazz.net

This City is very special. It's in the region where you'll find the World Famous Foie Gras. For the people that don't know of Foie Gras, It's Goose or Duck Liver. You can have it Poch or it comes in the form of Pate. (I think the region maybe Perigord?)

It's a Culinary experience that you will enjoy! If you ever do have a chance to enjoy this dish, please by all means order a bottle of (Sauternes) with your Foie Gras. This a very sweet wine that will compliment your foie, Gras. This is a region for all these culinary extravagant pleasures. Oh France, Ou La La!

The NICE JAZZ FEST, one of three major jazz events in Europe with Montreux and The Hague. This festival draws more than 45,000 spectators every summer with its 500 plus musicians, 8 days, 75 concerts, and 120 hours of magic and music! Every night from 7 pm to midnight, 3 stages present a prestigious array of world-famous artists. For more information here is the link http://www.nicejazzfest.com

Jazz Festival Hopping

Your Guide to Europes Jazz festival's

If you have ever been to a Jazz Festival then you will love this blog. If you have never been to a Jazz Festival, then you will learn a lot from this blog.

I think that it's time that we as a culture take back the intelligent waves of the mind and stop the systematic bombardment of the mind with this so called music of today. Don't get me wrong I like some of the music of today as long as it is expanding the mind. There is some great artists of today just like it has been throughout history.

But it comes a time when you notice that the music is going in the wrong direction and our young are being fed this garbage in access. Not only that, but it tells in a society where that society is coming from.

I could go on and on about this subject, but what I'm here for is to tell you about some great festivals and where you can find them.

There are some great jazz Hot Spots for you to go on Vacation to or just go to and listen to some great music. Not only that, but I've been to over 200 Festivals maybe more, I have to take a look at my T-shirt and poster collection and then I would be able to tell you exactly how many I've attended.

Global Festival

One dream of mine!

sunny 32 °C

One of the best global festivals around is the W.O.M.A.D festival. (World of Music Arts and Dance). I went to Reading (Reading, England just outside of London) festival about 3 years ago, and was blown out of the water with this festival. This is the festival I have dreamt about for many years and, here I am in the midst of it all. I could not believe my ears and eyes.

If you like to enjoy the world music sound, then you will love this festival. I just walked around the festival grounds with this big grin on my face, just enjoying the sounds and smells of the world. I was truly in my zone here. My moment my zen for life. I heard everything from Indian, Mali, Celtic, tuval, Cosmic to deep trip house beats being played all over the festival grounds. You will also find food from all over the world being prepared and served. Your taste buds will just explode with excitement!

The most amazing thing about these types of festivals is, you'll even see little kids age 8 & 9 attend these festivals. They even know a lot of the groups that perform at this festival. Now that to me was impressive. I know for a fact that in America we know nothing of these groups ( if it's not Rap, Pop, or Rock) and especially little kids. It was such a pleasant surprise to see so many little kids with so much musical knowledge and culture in their blood. I could really relate to this because I grew up with the same type of background.

San Sabastian Spain

Sleeping is forbiden

Spain! Spain! Spain!

Here's the only country I know where the people can stay up till 5:AM in the morning and can still go to work like nothing ever happened the night before.

This is truly a party Country, and what I mean by this, the whole Country parties all the time in all parts of Spain... You will live the real Festa in Spain. The party doesn't start till 1:AM and last until 6 or 8:AM in the morning. Not only that but after hanging all night the people they go to work! I never could understand this so I figure it must be in the blood of the Spanish people. Well anyway, they know how to live life, and I love them for this reason.

If you would like to visit Spain, by all means, go and check out the San Sebastian Jazz Festival (July).
They have great restaurants to dine in and there's plenty to do. They also have Casino in the City, so the nightlife is exciting!

Vilinus Lithuania

Jazz Lithuania style

I have only visited Lithuania once, I had a great time getting to know the people there. They have a wonderful Jazz festival called the ViniusJazz festival. The City of Vilnius is a very quiet place with an old age eastern European charm. I do remember that the town had a Black Madonna in a church. I also remember that the marketplace had many different types of Amber that they were selling. Do you know what's good about traveling? It's learning from each other.

They had so many different types of Amber, they had Black, White, and Yellow Amber's. Listen I mean they had Amber and lots of it. So I ask someone why, and they told me that it comes from the Baltic sea. So yes I was in the area where Amber comes from. I didn't know this until then ( you live and you learn). So me being me, I brought back so many pieces that I end up giving most of it away.

Anyway, we had a great time there, we went inside the city and discovered many interesting things about the City. I only had two days to discover this beautiful place, that's one of the set-back also when you travel as I do. Sometimes it's hard to experience all that a City has to offer. But on the other hand, I was there! Well anyway, the festival was great and the music was one-of-a-kind. It's a remote part of the world, but that's the beauty of it all.
